One woman described how she convinced her husband and doctor that she had an abortion six weeks after a secret abortion.
The woman recently took to Reddit to talk about the March 2020 termination, guilt, and why she would “do it all again.”
She explained that although she is financially stable enough to be married and able to support a child, she has always been “indecisive” about it.

At the time, she also had doubts about continuing their marriage after she was caught having an affair with her husband a few months ago.
“My mental health was deteriorating and I was using alcohol to escape,” she said.
When she learned that she was pregnant, her mental health continued to deteriorate, and she began to commit suicide.
‘I was devastated in an instant. I felt like all hope had been taken away from me. “I felt like I was trapped in a marriage that made me feel so small now,” she said.
Things got even more complicated when she told her husband that she was pregnant.
“She was ecstatic, she really wanted this baby,” she said.
The woman said she decided to open up to her husband about her mental health and how it was linked to her pregnancy and infidelity.
“My husband had done everything he could to reconcile us, but the pain was so deep that I didn’t know if I wanted to live with him forever,” she said.
“We were talking about abortion. He said that if I did, he wouldn’t want to have children in the future,” she said.
So she decided to make a family planning appointment, hoping that when she sees her babies she’ll want to hold them.
But when “little bean jelly” appeared on the screen, he “felt nothing” and knew he was about to suffer a secret end.
“While my husband was at work, I left with the abortion scheduled for the next week,” she said.
She had only been on the road for six weeks at the time, so the abortion was “as easy as taking two pills”, one after a pelvic exam at the clinic, and the other at home hours later.

The woman said she was trapped in an unhappy marriage after she found out she committed suicide and was pregnant.
“When the bleeding started, I pretended to have had a miscarriage,” she said.
‘I spoke to my regular obstetrician/gynecologist and he diagnosed me with a missed miscarriage without knowing that I was having a pill abortion. My husband thinks he had an abortion,” she said.
But now it’s a secret he must take to the grave, he explained.
“My husband was upset when it happened, but then he told me he was relieved too.”
“I feel very guilty, but I don’t regret anything. I’m so happy I don’t have that baby and I was shocked at how simple and safe the process was.
The woman, who lives in Texas, was put on trial in March 2020.
But now to keep her feet off the ground, she shares her story and argues that abortion remains legal.
I’m lucky to have the choice, and I’m really the only one who carries the weight of my choice.
“If Roe v Wade is cancelled, my state will be sentenced to 2-5 years in prison for abortion. “If I were in that position now, I would have been stuck in an unhappy, loveless marriage and had to give birth to a child that I probably resent,” she said.
“As everything is going on right now, I just had to share my story. All abortions are valid and lifesaving, even if the mother is not physically in a life-or-death situation.
“My pregnancy led to suicide and the abortion gave me hope and a reason to keep going.
“I’m so happy I had the chance to choose, and I’m really the only one who bears the weight of my choice,” she said.
And people were very supportive of his choice.
“As a European, all I can say to American women is this: please protest. Keep protesting. Let your voice be heard,” one woman said.
Another said, “I am with you and I would protest like crazy even if something like this happens in my country.”
‘This is really important! Abortion was illegal in Argentina until 2021. The way we went out for years was the reason for the abortion law. Keep protesting,” said another.
Others expressed their anger at the woman’s plight.
“I was shocked that your husband gave you an ultimatum for something he really didn’t want,” one woman said.
“The audacity of the man who told her that if she didn’t have a child now (right after I traumatized her) she would never leave him,” another said.
Others have suggested getting marriage counseling and deciding if they want to stay in their marriage.
“If that’s how you feel because you don’t want to stay married to him, you should break up immediately,” one woman said.
“I can’t believe he’s trying to manipulate you into having the baby. It seems like he’s trying to control the situation so the marriage can continue,” she said.
