Tems reacts to backlash over her big Oscar dress by blocking people sitting behind her: ‘Oops’

Nigerian singer Have she dressed to impress at the 2023 Oscars, sporting an angelic white gown for the March 12 ceremony. Though her looks were a godsend, she may have overlooked one key detail of the ensemble. Lever Couture’s hooded number was so grand it blocked the view of other audience members at the Dolby Theater.

As cameras scanned the crowd, people on the internet had something to say. Some tweeters called You have become “rude” for the exaggerated set. Others defended the star, full name Temilade Openiiyiand her asymmetrical tulle dress, like a twitter user which he said “stole the show”.

None of the conversations kept Tems from being hopeful. Elegant as ever, he responded to the backlash with a stunning set of photos from Oscar night Twitter. And unafraid to downplay the situation, the star tweeted a simple “Oops” with a smiley emoji next to the snaps.

Tems beamed as she created a storm in her hotel room ahead of the ceremony. The billowing white one-shoulder gown received an extra dose of glamor thanks to diamonds that matched her bejeweled heels.

The star opened up about her luxe look ahead of the awards, saying harper’s bazaar he wanted to “give it his all” for his first Oscar. “Two years ago, I would have said no to this dress,” she said.

“But it’s my first Oscar, I’ll give it my all. I really wanted to make the most of the day. The dress is also my way of celebrating my work and the people around me, celebrating my country and celebrating the people who support me. This dress says ‘Yes, yes, I’m here!’”
