At a time when Netflix is experiencing a serious loss of subscribers, other streaming platforms are rubbing their hands, and have carte blanche to amaze us with their creations.
This is the case in particular of Apple TV+ which, not content with offering a clear and eclectic catalogue, won an Oscar for its film Tailon March 28.
Force of proposal, the Apple platform adorns itself with another precious creation. Is called It roarsand it is absolutely worth it!
Roar, what is it?
Made by program creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch incandescence whose 3 seasons thrilled Netflix subscribers, It roars it’s an anthology series. That is to say, each of its episodes has its own cast and storyline.
Thereby, It roars is made up of 8 distinct stories, inspired by Cecelia Ahern’s short story collection of the same name, which give pride of place to the weird and feminism.
You will thus be able to discover the singular fate of plural heroines, who sometimes go out with ducks, sometimes, when there are no eyes on them, they swallow raw photos.
It roars, means to roar, in English. No term could have better paid homage to the women who populate this series released on April 15 on the Apple platform.
Because they roar together, these women in search of freedom, and it is in their violent will to be that we detect the touch and the obsessions of the creators of incandescence.

The main interest of this series, in addition to its cast to which we will return later, is undoubtedly the alliance of horror, a historically misogynistic genre and entangled in the creation of female characters who respond to stereotypes such as that of final girl or the yells queento feminism.
The result is a precious, nervous and atypical production that rethinks the boundaries of the fantastic and the social.
Exciting.
Roar, a splendid cast at the service of a great series
The women who inhabit the series are talented It roars. And there are many. First there is Nicole Kidman, co-producer and actress of the program, then there is obviously Meritt Wever (New girl, incredible) as well as Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Bad Times at the El Royale) or even Alison Brie (Glow, Community) and Kara Hayward (Kingdom of the moonrise, Manchester by the sea).
Lots of talent grappling with horror (although Nicole Kidman has flirted with the genre several times, particularly in Nine complete strangers) brilliantly, and give substance to this outstanding series.
It roars is available on Apple TV+.
