While Rupert Murdoch’s media clearly blamed Donald Trump for Republican midterm losses, Saturday night live False fox and friends when it tried to break the news to the former famous apprentice host that he is no longer her favorite guest.
“Mr. President. I don’t know how to tell you this. But we’ve moved on. We can’t have you on the show anymore.” fox and friends Co-host Ainsley Earhardt (played by Heidi Gardner) told Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) in the Republican sequel that hopes of a red wave are rising.
“What? What did I do?” Trump asked her. “Was it the rebellion?”
He then relives a series of moments from the past seven years when much of the media predicted his demise — impeachment, “Ukraine blackmail,” Charlottesville, an unbuilt wall — only to see him in the GOP’s enduring embrace, and thus Murdoch’s empire.
That’s because you lost. Mr. President. We just don’t see a future with you. But we can still be friends,” said Steve Doocy (Mikey Day).
Then Trump rushed to stay on the air. “Hey, don’t push me away!” Trump said. “I have a big announcement and it’s not what you think it is. I am re-introducing myself as president.”

“It was difficult, but we are finally free. Changes are imminent and I’m pretty sure we won’t hear from him again,” Doocy said, before noticing Trump’s cell phone ringing. Then Brian Kilmeade (Bowen Yang) gets a call from the ex-president before Kari Lake (Cecily Strong), Arizona gubernatorial candidate and Trump protégé, suddenly shows up at the office fox and friends adjust to
“Do you think if I lose I will leave?” Not in your life,” Lake said.
The Democrats’ stronger-than-expected halftime showing, one of the biggest political stories of the year, made it all but a certainty SNL will handle it either way. Opting for a parody of cable news, a fairly common candid premise, they relied on Johnson’s knack for mimicking Trump and his streams of consciousness. In fact, when Trump was president, calls were all the rage fox and friends would last so long that the hosts seemed to remind him that he had more important things to do.
In the final skit, Johnson’s Trump wasn’t all that different from Trump’s actual Truth Social statements, especially when he lashed out at the new up-and-coming darling and Trump rival of the right, Ron DeSantis. “I made Ron DeSantis. He will lose until I send FBI agents to sort out his pick,” Trump told the hosts.
The highlight of the sketch was Strong’s return as Lake, the former TV host and election denier who pretended she would win the race. Instead, she trails Democrat Katie Hobbs in the vote count. “I believe the election is rigged and the results should be thrown out,” Lake told the newspaper. fox and friends Host moves to another view while being told she has a slight lead.
“That’s why I always said: This is a democracy. Trust the system. Trust the voters,” Lake told the hosts.
SNL The authors also addressed Lake’s use of mesh-type filters. “Who do Arizonans want to lead? Katie Hobbs, who is hiding in a basement, or me, Kari Lake, who lives here in this Vaseline pool, who is at CVS every day asking black customers to work here,” Lake said.
The Cold Open also included a news update when Doocy referred to Democrats retaining control of the Senate. Earlier in the evening, networks actually called the Nevada Senate race for Catherine Cortez Masto, ensuring that Democrats would have 50 seats to retain the majority. Control of the house is still uncertain.
