“Transphobia kills”: Redcar (Christine and Queens) responds to transphobic comments

As her new album will be out soon, Redcar, formerly of Christine and the Queens, speaks out to denounce the transphobia she has suffered on social networks since her trans coming out.

“Since my debut I have received letters from young trans people thanking me, while I did not understand my trans identity. ”

In a long interview for NumberRedcar, Chris’s new alter ego, continues his intellectual-pop turn. Despite the imminent release of his album on November 11, 2022 (as well as the two concert dates in Paris shortly before), it is clear that his speeches on social networks are also attracting our attention and arousing admiration.

The artist did not hesitate to answer to those who accuse him of not being truly trans and they allow themselves to question their gender dysphoria. Out of the question for Redcar to let himself be psychiatrized, or to suggest that his coming out was just another artistic performance.

He announced it last August on TikTok which is now male gender :

Ok good day my friends

In response to those who deny his approach and force their diagnosis by draping themselves in pathologizing speech, Redcar decided not to let it go:

“Transphobia kills”: Redcar (Christine and Queens) responds to transphobic comments

“Why should these horrible people lie silently in the shadows in their shame? I REPORT THEM.

It’s not about keeping quiet or apologizing:

“I am trans, I never said that I would do nothing in my journey towards full acceptance. I have no intention of simplifying or supporting this false binary. We have been around since the dawn of time and what needs to change is society in its together, not my theatrical entertainment. “

A message that has also (and fortunately) aroused a great wave of support.
