The murder was committed by Mark David Chapman, with whom, by the way, the musician met and even signed the record a few hours before his death. Now serving his sentence in New York State, the 67-year-old criminal has appeared before the parole board for the 12th time. However, the court decided to leave him in jail.

By the way, the prisoner for life has been trying to obtain parole since 2000, twenty years after the execution of the singer. According to the American, he feels remorseful and ashamed of his act. The next time he can ask for his release is two years later, in 2024.
