Alec Baldwin sued: Player must pay $25 million

The federal lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of New York by the family of infantryman Lance Riley McCallum. He was one of 13 soldiers killed by a terrorist near an international airport in Afghanistan last August. The situation received a huge response in the media and on the Web, and many decided to help the families of deceased soldiers. Alec Baldwin was one of those who wanted to support the widow and sister of an infantryman. The actor announced on his social media account that he will donate $5,000 to Lance’s family “in memory of a fallen soldier”. But later Alec Baldwin openly condemned the military sister for participating in the storming of the Capitol (January 6, 2021).

He wrote a comment below the post: “Is this the same girl I sent money to?” He then addressed her directly: “When I transferred the money to you for your deceased brother out of genuine respect for his services to our country, I did not know that you had participated in the January 6 riots. Your activities led to the illegal destruction of government property and the death of a law enforcement officer. I’ve re-uploaded your photo to myself, good luck.”

After that, not only hatred, but also terrible threats of cruel reprisals rained down on the girl’s family. They received hundreds of frightening messages accusing them of “racism” and “Nazism”. Also, netizens asked them to refund $5,000 to Alec Baldwin.

By the way, this isn’t the first time they’ve filed a lawsuit against Alec Baldwin. The deceased soldier’s family had already applied to the court in January, but was denied. Now, the relatives of the soldiers are demanding 25 million dollars compensation from the actor for deliberate moral damage, violation of privacy and slander.
