Tatyana Mikhalkova

The opening ceremony of the 44th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) was held at the Rossiya cinema with the support of Mercury. Tatyana Mikhalkova, Konstantin Khabensky, Sergey Burunov, Dmitry Dyuzhev, Alena Babenko, Daria Poverennova, Nikita Efremov, Alexander Tsypkin, Yanina Studilina, Anna Kotova-Derabina, Maria Lobanova were among the industry stars and other media personalities attending the event. As the head of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Nikita Mikhalkov said at the briefing before the ceremony, 245 films from more than 45 countries will be screened at MIFF. The head of the jury of this year’s main competition was People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Evgeny Mironov. The jury also included producer Tandy Davids (South Africa), cameraman Hayk Kirakosyan (Turkey – Russia), film director Andrey Kravchuk (Russia), film director Rassul Sadrameli (Iran).

MIFF’s opening film was Anton Megerdichev’s “Heart of Parma”, based on Alexei Ivanov’s novel of the same name.
