In 2019, Meghan and Harry went on a South African tour. According to the Duchess, one of the evenings was overshadowed by a fire. The heater in the nursery caught fire. Luckily, the nanny was downstairs with 4-month-old Archie at the time. Because there was “no smoke detector”, someone “accidentally smelled the hallway” and put out the flames.

After the incident, Meghan and Harry did not want to be separated from their son. True, they still had to do this, because another official reception awaited them.
