STX’s Upcoming List Includes Titles Like Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre; miguel manny ferrari; Go on Greenland: immigration; and Neil Burger Daughter of the March King Starring Daisy Ridley, Garrett Hedlund and Ben Mendelsohn.
The two companies became even closer during the STX sales period after Nejafi Companies announced a $173 million deal to acquire the studio in December. As Deadline first reported, STX chose to stay independent from Najafi and secure additional funding from Birch Grove LP and 777 Partners, and walked away from the merger with India’s Eros International.
STX will remain an independent studio outside of the Lionsgate deal and plans to produce between 12 and 15 broadcast and feature films per year.
News of the upcoming STX and Lionsgate deal comes as STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group President Adam Fogelson addresses Lionsgate as the new Motion Picture Group Vice President. Deadline reports that the Universal veteran will begin September 1 and will oversee the worldwide marketing and theatrical distribution for Lionsgate, reporting to Joe Drake, president of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
Lionsgate’s list of upcoming theaters includes: Autumn August 12, White bird: a great story on October 14, devil’s hunt on October 28, Jesus Revolution on February 24, John Wick: Chapter 4 on March 24, God there you are my Margarita on April 28 and The Hunger Games: A Song of Birds and Snakes On 17 November 2023. The studio just released a surprise trailer. John Wick: Chapter 4 On stage at Collider’s San Diego Comic-Con panel with the film’s director Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves.
