Marvel has released a new featurette for the upcoming series She-Hulk: lawyer and focuses on the story and tone of the series, which is described as a “slice of life” Marvel comedy. Executive producer and lead writer Jessica Gao recently told EW:

“The really funny thing about this show is that in the Marvel movies we see a lot of high-risk events: the universe will end, everyone that exists will go away. But what happens between those events? Happens on a normal Tuesday when you just have to do your laundry. It really is some kind of slice of life that explores this show.

The promo, which hails from ET, features interviews with the cast and crew along with some fun and interesting new footage.

Kevin Feige he says in the video that “there is something so surreal and so funny about a giant five foot tall Hulk in a courtroom.” Co-executive producer Wendy Jacobson he added: “It was about putting a real human being in these absurd situations.”

We also learn that She-Hulk’s origin story has been changed for the series. In the comic, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) got his powers through a life-saving blood transfusion from his cousin Bruce Banner (Marco Ruffalò). In this new featurette, we see that there is a car accident involving Jennifer and Bruce Banner. It is during this event that Banner’s special blood accidentally enters his bloodstream. Soon after, Jennifer’s veins are seen pulsing with gamma-rayed blood.

She-Hulk: lawyer follows Jennifer Walters “as she navigates the complicated life of a 30-year-old single lawyer who also happens to be a 6-foot 7-inch superpowered green hulk.”

The nine-episode series also stars Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky / the Abomination, and Benedict Wong like Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass And Renée Elise Goldsberry also star.

Rick and Morty‘S Jessica Gao created the show and Kat Coirò divide the directing duties on the series with Anu Valia. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria AlonsoAnd Brad Winderbaum.

She-Hulk will debut on Disney + on August 17th.
