Osgood Perkins is building a very intriguing lineup for his next film. His new project, The Young Peoplehas just added an impressive group of stars that include Brendan Hines, Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, Heather Graham, Cush Jumbo, Lexi MinetreeAND Lily Collias.
They will join those already announced Lola Tung AND Nico Parker. Perkins, who wrote and will direct the film, continues his strong collaboration with NEON, which will be released theatrically The Young People In movie theaters in the United States, plot details are kept tightly under wraps.
The project is the first film under the new first-look deal between NEON, Perkins and its production company Phobos.
This collaboration follows the success of Perkins’ smash hit Long legswhich became the highest-grossing independent film of the year, grossing a massive $75 million domestically. That momentum has continued The Monkeyanother NEON release that marked the company’s second-best opening weekend at the box office.
Perkins and NEON clearly have a winning creative streak and aren’t slowing down. The duo is already preparing for their next project together, Keeper, which NEON will release on November 14th.
Although we still don’t know what dark world Perkins is creating for The Young Peoplewith such a large cast and the director’s track record for unsettling, character-driven horror, it’s safe to say that this will be another crazy horror movie.
