It was the film that unveiled it to the general public: in 2015, when the first part of the saga came out erotic-comic-crashing Fifty Shades of Grayno one knows Dakota Johnson.
In a few years it became essential, joining indie cinema with director Luca Guadagnino, with whom he shot the remakes of Suspiria And A bigger spray.

“We always had to fight”
In a long interview with Vanity Fair, the actress returns to take on the role of the naïve who took off her career, that of Anastasia Steele, facing the dark and problematic Christian Gray.
“I’m a sexual person and when I’m interested in something, I want to learn all about it. That’s why I made these great movies where you had to be naked. I had signed up to do a very different version of the film that we ended up making. “
In question the production, but also the author of the bestseller, EL James, very present during the making of the first film with Sam Taylor-Wood at the controls. “There are parts of the books that didn’t work in a movie, like the inner monologue, which was incredibly mundane. Saying it out loud didn’t work. You always had to fight. Again.”
Beyond these ongoing negotiations, Dakota Johnson recounts the chaotic conditions of the shoot:
“We shot the movie that Erika (EL James’s first name) wanted to do, and then we shot the movie that we wanted to do. The day before, I rewrote the scenes with the old dialogue to add a line here and there. It was a mess all the time. “
No regrets, however, but a little tired: “If I had known at that moment that it would have happened like this, I don’t think anyone would have gone there”she admits, before concluding by acknowledging that these films were indeed a stepping stone, both for her and for her acting partner Jamie Dornan: “It was so incredible, so lucky. But he was weird. So, so weird. “
We will soon find her with Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in the highly anticipated thriller Don’t worry honey by Olivia Wilde.
