At the center of the scandal was Emily Ratajkowski. She was sued by a Queens street photographer after posting paparazzi photos on Instagram*.

In the lawsuit, Edward Opinaldo claimed that the star violated his copyright – he used the photos he took without permission.

We’re talking about photos of Emily leaving the New York building on June 17, 2019. On the same day, Ratajkowski shared the photo and received 288 thousand likes.

Edward Opinaldo registered the rights to these photos in July 2019. And in September, she noticed that her image appeared on the page of the star.

The case was settled in April, according to The New York Post.
By the way, this isn’t the first time Emily has been sued. In October 2019, the model was again accused of copyright infringement. The plaintiff was photographer Robert O’Neill at the time.
