Tonight, the journalist tells us how Vladimir Putin used propaganda to lure people into his cause.

What will we discover in these new studies?

Marc de La Villardiere: The way Vladimir Putin’s propaganda was created in Russia. Both in the media, at events, and more surprisingly in state museums in Moscow and even through an amusement park called Patriot Park.

Was it difficult to shoot in Russia?

We were among the last to receive visas. Today Russia no longer gives them to foreign journalists. We stayed there for a little over two weeks. When we arrived, we were taken for a short interrogation. But surprisingly we were able to move freely. We did not feel hostility even among the population.

What caught your attention during your research?

When we arrive, we are far from imagining that we are in a country that has declared war on its Ukrainian neighbor. Restaurants are crowded and people go to work. There is also the testimony of this mother who lost her 20-year-old son who died at the front. I thought this family would criticize power, but actually not at all. They believe that the sacrifice of their son is necessary.

Does your father Bernard de La Villardière give you any advice?

Definitely. But it tells me, above all, that a curiosity should always be on the alert.
