22nd annual Awards BET On Sunday evening, Taraji P. Hanson returns as the host of “Culture’s Biggest Night”. The star-studded event, which was broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater, featured a roster of new and familiar talent, including electric performances by Lizo, Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne, Roddy Ritchie and Chance the Rapper.
Since 2001, the BET Awards have featured people of color who excel in entertainment and the creative arts in television, film, music, marketing and sports.
The evening’s honorary award went to Lifetime Achievement Award winner Sean “Big” Combs, whose unique career as an artist, producer and tycoon was honored by collaborators Jodetz, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim and Busta Reims in a mixed work . and Fate Evans. The celebration ended with a surprise performance by masked Kanye West, who praised the respected producer for his contribution to the world of hip-hop since the early 1990s.
