In Ascot near Windsor this week, one of the most important social events of summer in the UK, the traditional royal races kicked off. It has been held at the racecourse in Berkshire since 1711 and brings together members of the British royal family and all horse racing enthusiasts.

On the fourth day of Royal Ascot, Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived. The couple got into an open-top car. The Duchess of Cambridge preferred a black polka-dot white dress by Alessandra Rich, while Kate completed her outfit with a hat decorated with lilies. As jewellery, Prince William’s wife opted for pearly diamond earrings, brown pumps, and collected hair, which she skillfully hid behind a headdress, completing the look.

This look strongly resembled Princess Diana’s exit from the races in 1988, after which Lady Dee opted for a polka-dot printed dress.
