Stranger Things season 4 makeover: Hopper’s facial prosthetic and Karen Wheeler’s ’80s hairstyle

The fourth season of Stranger Things premiered on May 27. And fans still can’t get over the unexpected plot and are looking forward to the rest of the series, which is scheduled for release in July.

For several days after the premiere, fans continued to ask the same questions: “Did Millie Bobby Brown cut her hair?”, “How does Steve’s hair look so voluminous?” Luckily, head makeup artist Amy L. Forsythe and hairstylist Sarah Hindsgaul shared a behind-the-scenes look at how the characters were created. Warning, there are spoilers.

According to the make-up artist, inspired by the Lost Boys series, she applied gloss to her lips as well as randomly applied make-up all over her body. “We applied candy-colored lip gloss around her mouth to make it look like sticky candy,” the makeup artist wrote on her blog.

Peter Ballard, played by Jamie Bauer, is remembered for his pale, dull complexion. As it turns out, this was done on purpose. “Makeup artists smoothed skin tone with Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Correcting Face Cream for all lab workers,” the makeup artists wrote.

Nancy’s mom, Karen Wheeler, showed up in Season 4 with the perfect ’80s-inspired hairstyle. The hairstylist wrote that this gorgeous wig was purposely cut in short layers to show off the perm.

Hopper’s face

David Harbor, the actor who plays Sheriff Hopper, has lost quite a bit of weight since the end of the third season. Therefore, to give her former appearance, makeup artists used prosthetics. “I hate prosthetics but Barry [визажист] and the team made it as painless as possible,” Harbor wrote on his blog.
