Subscribers to Russian online cinemas will temporarily not be able (well, or not) to watch “Anora” with Mark Eidelstein and Yura Borisov. Representatives of the distribution company of Sean Baker’s film told this to Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The reason for the time limit is due to the announcement of the nominations and the preparations for the Oscar ceremony.

The film is scheduled to be released on February 17, following the announcement of the shortlist of Academy Award nominees. However, Anora will still be available to watch in cinemas, EST (access to a certain amount of content without restrictions) and TVOD (access to content through subscription to a certain piece of content).
Meanwhile, earlier rumors have surfaced online that the upcoming Oscars may be canceled due to fires in Los Angeles. However, representatives of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts later stated that there was no talk of any cancellation.

Let us remind you that it was learned that the announcement of the 97th Oscar nominees on January 14 was postponed to January 23, and the ceremony will be held on March 2. This year we are especially looking forward to the award: According to authoritative publications, our Yura Borisov may be nominated in the “Best Supporting Actor” category for his role in the movie “Anora”.
