According to Kinopoisk, Francis Ford Coppola’s movie “Megalopolis” will be released in Russia. Its premiere will take place on January 9, 9 – 3.5 months after it opened at the worldwide box office.
The film failed at the box office, grossing $13 million (1.3 billion rubles – Note ed.) with a budget of 120 million dollars (11.6 billion rubles) Note ed.). The director financed the shooting independently and sold his stake in the wine business for this purpose.
“Megalopolis” tells the story of an accident that led to the destruction of a metropolis already in disrepair. The story focuses on idealistic architect Caesar (Adam Driver) and his nemesis, mayor Frank Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito).
