According to Variety, Lionsgate is preparing for a new adaptation of the American Psycho novel. Luca Guadagnino, known for the movie “The Contenders”, will direct the project.

There is currently no release date, cast or other details for the new version of “American Psycho.” All we know is that the film will re-adapt the plot of Bret Easton Ellis’ original novel and tell the story of Patrick Bateman, a banker who turns into a ruthless killer by night.
The only film adaptation of American Psycho was released in 2000. The main roles were played by Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Josh Lucas, Reese Witherspoon, Cara Seymour and others. The movie received a score of 7.2 out of 10 according to Kinopoisk users and 7.6/10 on IMDb.
