According to Sport-Express, Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin ranked first in the list of the highest paid players in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Including this season, the forward will earn a total of $149.2 million over his career. In second place is Canadian Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, with career earnings of $141.3 million. Evgeni Malkin, another Russian hockey player and Pittsburgh native who earned $132.3 million throughout his career, ranks third.
Let us remind you that Alexander Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005 and has represented Washington in North America throughout his career. In 2018, he and his team won the Stanley Cup.
