According to Sport-Express, Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin ranked first in the list of the highest paid players in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Including this season, the forward will earn a total of $149.2 million over his career. In second place is Canadian Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, with career earnings of $141.3 million. Evgeni Malkin, another Russian hockey player and Pittsburgh native who earned $132.3 million throughout his career, ranks third.
