For us, makeup is not just a familiar beauty routine, but also an opportunity to look at yourself in a different way, try new looks and emphasize your uniqueness.
We present to you our columnist Olga Romanova! Olga is a famous makeup artist and creator of the Romanovamakeup cosmetics brand. Last time she told me how to do fashionable makeup in grunge style. Today I will share five mistakes we make when applying tone.

Many people think that choosing a good foundation is enough for their makeup to look neat and last for a long time. But the quality of makeup largely depends on the preparation and order of application. You should not rely on a single formula. First, examine your skin’s behavior and choose a cream according to the problem.
Preparation
Light gels (water or silicone-based) absorb quickly but form a thin, slippery film on the skin. If you apply an oily, creamy foundation on top, its adhesion may weaken and the possibility of wrinkling will increase.
Moisturizers often contain emollients and lipids that create a slightly stickier layer. It acts as a primer and helps the product adhere better.
We not only need hydration, but the right balance of products for a particular shade. That’s why it’s important to test how the base and treatment work together with the tone, rather than separately.
Tools and textures

Using a low-quality brush or too dry powder leads to destruction of texture and also highlights dry areas and roughness.
We recommend choosing a soft brush that releases product gradually. It will provide natural and even coverage. The formula of the products should also be chosen according to the skin condition. It’s always easier to add a little rather than remove the excess.
Application
Face. Do not try to cover all skin imperfections at once; this will only highlight them. It is best to apply the tone gradually, in small portions. Use a cover and focus correction product where the texture appears problematic.
Eyes. The skin around your eyes is always the center of attention and determines how fresh you look. Highlight your eyes with concealer instead of covering dark areas with a solid layer of foundation. Also work on the inner corners and upper eyelids.
Neck. Apply the product not only to your face but also to your neck. Using the brush, gently distribute the product along the jawline. This will create a smooth transition. Choose a color according to the skin tone of your neck. If the cream flows, it means it has been chosen correctly.
