Angel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Young Washingtona sweeping historical drama that dives into the untold origin story of America’s first president.

This film explores the early trials, battles, and defining moments that shaped George Washington before he became the leader of a revolution.

The film introduces William Franklin Miller like a young George Washington, with Mary Louise Parker as his mother, Mary Washington, and Kelsey Grammer as Lord Fairfax.

Andy Serkis takes on the role of General Edward Braddock, while Ben Kingsley plays Robert Dinwiddie, the lieutenant governor of Virginia. To complete the cast there is Jonno Davis as James Mackay.

The teaser offers a glimpse into a gritty, patriotic story centered on Washington’s early military experiences. The story follows him as he faces brutal battles during the French and Indian War and learns what it truly means to lead.

Angel Studios describes him with the tagline: “Before he led a revolution, he survived one.” According to the official synopsis, Young Washington “captures the tension, courage and humanity of a leader whose formative story has rarely been told on screen.”

Directed by Jon Erwin, known for Jesus Revolution and I Can Only Imagine, the film will hit theaters on July 3, 2026, right before America’s 250th Independence Day celebration, the film is clearly timed to spark patriotic pride.
