Naomi Campbell has come under fire for her charity work. The supermodel spent the funds intended for those in need on herself.
Tens of thousands of dollars allegedly went to luxury hotels, spa treatments, the star’s personal security and much more. Additionally, Campbell’s colleague Bianca Hellmich received large sums of money from the organization in the form of unauthorized payments.
Fashion for Relief, of which the star was a trustee, closed in March. The Guardian has published the findings of an investigation that found much of the money raised at celebrity charity events over the past decade was misused.
As a result, Campbell was banned from being a trustee of the charity for five years. The supermodel founded the organization in 2005. The money he raised was supposed to go towards improving the lives of socially vulnerable people. However, between April 2016 and July 2022, only 8.5% of wages were allocated to these purposes.
