The billionaire said his company Neuralink had implanted the chip in a second patient, Reuters reported. Elon Musk assured that the procedure, which aims to help paralyzed people use digital devices independently, was “extremely successful.”

According to the entrepreneur, the company is testing its device. Meanwhile, the first patient, Noland Arbo, has already been allowed to play video games, use the Internet, share on social networks and move the cursor on his laptop.
Elon Musk said the second patient suffered a spinal cord injury. According to the businessman, the 400 electrodes of the implant placed in the brain of the trial participant are working. Neuralink’s website says the implant uses 1,024 electrodes. “Everything is working very well,” Musk said, adding that he “didn’t want to jinx anything.”
The engineer expects Neuralink to provide the implants to eight more patients this year as part of its clinical trials.
Elon Musk’s company had previously announced the development of a chip that would allow blind people to see. Read about it here.
