Apparently, Russian bloggers will need to obtain a license to conduct educational activities on the Internet. According to Izvestia, lawmakers have prepared a relevant bill for submission to the State Duma.

The explanatory note shows that most bloggers who are not affiliated with the education sector benefit from tax breaks for this sector. If the bill becomes law, bloggers will not be able to sell educational courses and trainings online.
The deputies cited statistics. So, in 2022, the total revenue of online schools alone will amount to 95 billion rubles. According to them, in the first quarter of 2023, the revenue of the segment will be 46.7 billion, while by the end of the year the turnover of online schools will increase by 30% compared to the previous year and reach 123 billion rubles.
