Ryan Reynolds was thrilled to meet Madonna, who approached him about using her song in Deadpool and Wolverine.
The film features the song “Like a Prayer.” I had to approach Madonna personally to get permission. Ryan admitted that he was nervous before the meeting, as if he were meeting royalty. “It was a big deal to ask for it. We met with him and explained how, where and what the song would be used for,” Entertainment Weekly quotes the actor as saying.
The singer also edited one of the film’s scenes. Madonna is just one of the many pop stars featured on Deadpool & Wolverine’s eclectic soundtrack, which includes songs by NSYNC, Avril Lavigne, and even Hugh Jackman. Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26.
