The artist said that his parents suffered from schizophrenia and severe depression, and he was treated for these mental illnesses for most of his childhood. He was admitted to psychiatric hospitals more than once and received electrotherapy.

“I often thought about what my mother went through. If I’m good in this movie, it’s because of her. It also made me feel a little bit more sympathetic to my character, whose story is as crazy as it is,” The Hollywood Reporter quotes the Hollywood star.

Soul Collector follows an FBI agent (Maika Monroe) who must investigate a serial killer known as Longshanks (Nicolas Cage). The maniac has been murdering entire families for years.

The film will be released abroad on July 12, and the crime thriller will be available in Russian cinemas from July 25.
