A judge has denied Alec Baldwin’s request to dismiss his western-set murder case. It is stated that the actor still faces a prison sentence of one and a half years.

According to Variety, a New Mexico judge rejected the claims made by the star’s lawyers. Thus, it is stated that the 66-year-old actor may still be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cameraman Galina Hudchins on the set of the movie Rust.

Prosecutor Kari Morrissey said the actor would be responsible from the moment the firearm came into his possession. Baldwin’s attorneys relied on the fact that the law earlier in the year had failed to present key evidence and defense witnesses were unavailable.

The newspaper included the following statements in the judge’s defense: “Although the state set aside some questions, in many other cases the jury asked evidentiary questions and received comprehensive answers from witnesses.”

Let us also remind you that weapons expert Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months in prison in the Galina Hudchins murder case. He is trying to appeal the decision.
