Finding the right self-tanner is like finding the perfect concealer or foundation. It can take months or even years. As a beauty journalist, I am lucky enough to be able to test many products, whether they are newly released or real bestsellers… So, obviously, I’ve experimented with the best and worst self-tanners myself. This way I was able to get an idea of which formula I think meets all the needs. And the latter is none other than that of Sunny Honey from the Coco & Eve brand. I’ll explain why.
A light and non-sticky formula
What is generally a problem with self-tanners is their stickiness, which is difficult to apply and takes about half an hour to penetrate the skin. In this case we end up being too lazy to wear it, for fear of having to dedicate ourselves to this task for the next 40 minutes of our lives.
With the Sunny Honey formula, this is not the case. With a very light texture, it is easily applied with a glove, spreads evenly over the skin and spreads a veil over the epidermis. After trying it, I obviously timed the drying and this only took about 7 minutes to dry completely. Hating sticky self-tanners, I obviously paid attention to this parameter which turns out not to be a problem with this formula, which is a big plus if you have a patience level of 0 like me.
0 orange effect on the skin
Another important point: the result on the skin. Being quite white by nature, orange skin doesn’t really suit me. Furthermore, it often offers an unnatural effect that I don’t like. Luckily, the Sunny Honey self-tanning formula saved me from this problem. Equipped with a grey-green base (which is clearly visible on the skin before rinsing it), the latter allows you to obtain a natural tan (don’t expect to get 4 tan levels higher than yours from the first use). If you want a darker finish on your skin, you will need to reapply the formula the next day to achieve the level of tan that’s right for you.
A very hydrating side that makes the difference
After rinsing (the longer you keep the self-tanner on you, the more it holds onto your skin), you will soon realize that, beyond the tan, your skin will be pleasantly luminous. It’s normal ! Moisturizing and rich in plants and amino acids, the formula of this product does not cause dehydration and even offers the skin an unparalleled level of hydration.
A great discovery to apply both in winter and summer.
