We have therefore listed for you the various ways to sell children’s clothing that you no longer use. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. We also give you some tips to attract buyers and optimize your revenue.

But let’s not make any mistakes, evidently we won’t recover the initial stake: the important thing is above all to do so make space by giving clothes a second life which may have had great sentimental value. Clothes go but photos and memories remain, don’t worry!

Most popular: vinified

The Vinted principle

It is the best known and most popular site for buying and selling clothing, connecting people. This was stated by the Lithuanian platform Vinted 16 million users in France (and 45 million worldwide), which makes it a real breeding ground for nuggets.

There is a huge choice of clothes for babies and children and you can shop anywhere in France!

Tips for selling on Vinted

  • Create lots! Bodysuits, pajamas, leggings… This will allow you to appear in searches and you will rarely buy a unique item: the little ones have the unfortunate tendency to get stained at the slightest opportunity. So you need several copies of each category, this is what parents are looking for.
  • From cute sets that make you want to unleash your crush. Pants, a top or a dress with tights and hey, we can already imagine it and BUY IT!
  • From low prices. So it can hurt your heart to have the impression of selling off items that you sometimes bought at a high price, but it is often an important condition for them to be chosen from the multitude of proposals.
  • Respect the seasons. It seems obvious but we still see too many coats released in the height of summer! Of course, there’s a temptation to put your too-small pilot suit on sale at the end of the winter, but it’s best to save it until the fall to catch the attention of parents who are gearing up for the start of the season.
  • Signs. Petit Bateau and Jacadi are going faster, so if you have any, don’t hesitate to report them.
  • From the beautiful and precise photos. Sure, it takes time, but it’s worth it. A white background, natural light and well-centered clothing are recommended.

The most varied: Leboncoin

The Leboncoin principle

There’s everything (and anything!) on this peer-to-peer shopping site. It’s a little fairer than on Vinted but it’s clearly there Businessboth when you are a buyer and a seller.

Here you can store not only your clothes, but also your childcare equipment and games. Parents who browse your profile will be looking for good deals.

Tips for selling on Leboncoin

  • Must be fast ! So yes, it’s good to take the time to think about it when there’s a negotiation but the potential buyer, if you respond a few days later, will have moved on. THE heart attack will be more reasoned (“but in reality we don’t need it at all!” »), so you might as well strike while the iron is hot. And this applies as much to accepting the transaction as to agreeing a meeting place or a type of shipment… Good deals don’t wait.
  • THE same commandments they are valid only for Vinted: many, sets, beautiful photos, respect for the seasons, affordable prices!

The simplest: Once upon a time

The premise of Once Upon a Time Many Times

It is a site specializing in second-hand children’s fashion. The big advantage? You don’t have to worry about the sale itself.

Since parents’ schedules are often very busy, it’s difficult (and annoying, let’s face it) to free up several hours for ironing, taking photos, shipping… clothes you no longer want. He has therefore been charged several times, through those who the site presents as ambassadors, who come to your house to collect your clothes on sale.

It can take a big pain out of your side. The promise is very beautiful!

But if you are not in a city affected by this collection (the map is here), you can always ship your clothes for free.

Tips for selling on Once Upon Many a Times

We asked Marie, a user, her usual opinion:

“It’s the amount of clothes we sell that makes it really interesting.

It also depends on the parties. For example, for a Natalys raincoat you can expect 3 or 4 euros. For leggings, max 1 euro.

Either we agree to sell at a low price, or it bothers us!

For new items it is better to resell on Vinted. »

We are therefore warned. We won’t get rich but our wardrobes will gain space!

The chicest: Maison ABC

The principle of Maison ABC

It is a platform that buys and sells, only clothes from big brands ! It is she who creates the bond between individuals and guarantees the good quality of the pieces.

Clothes can be stored in Boulogne-Billancourt. Otherwise you can contact Maison ABC via email (via the website) and you will receive a prepaid Mondial Relay bulletin. You can therefore sell from all over France.

Tips for selling on Maison ABC

The advice comes directly from the founder, Aurélie:

  • Be careful, alone slightly elegant brands are taken ! They are indicated on the site. There can still be Zara and Bout’chou if they are trendy, slightly chic pieces. No H&M and Kiabi, because there is no added value.
  • There is a simulator on site, so you can have that a quick quote of what you can earn.
  • There is a base price listed but can be increasedfor example if there is liberty, if it is in excellent condition, if they are rare pieces.
  • You can only trust clothes in good conditionno pilling, with intact labels.
  • What is not retained may be recovered at your expense or awarded to an association !

The most human: Facebook groups

The principle

Facebook, which has become the social network par excellence for young people (while younger people are deserting it), is a very interesting tool for creating links with other relatives living nearby and to buy and sell clothes. We are therefore sure that there are no shipping scams, crazy shipping costs… And there could be some great meetings in prospect.

Advise

  • Put yourself in different groups if they exist where you live. Search for “Parents of… district, city, department, region”. We won’t lie, unfortunately it’s mainly mothers who adopt this type of approach, so you can also search for “The mothers of…” or “The mothers of…”. I personally am in three parent groups and there are a lot of deals!
  • Always remain courteous and offer good offers (bring down the exorbitant prices). Everyone sees your ads and you can meet potential buyers on every street corner!
  • You can too build customer loyalty, offering good deals. Their children grow at the same rate as yours so purchases can continue throughout the years.

Order well and take care

We know it well: all this takes time and very often it is mothers who take care of it. In heterosexual couples, 70% of domestic and parental tasks are carried out by women; it’s an invisible job (who will notice when the wardrobe is tidy?), but it has to be done.

Let’s remember that women are not genetically predestined to sort clothes and that these gentlemen can absolutely participate, interact with buyers, move their asses at the post office, and so on.

That said, since it still needs to be said, you are now spoiled for choice get rid of all this stuff sell your little ones clothes! You can also put some up for sale and keep others – I save my best pieces for my friends’ future children.

And if you are the altruistic type, you can obviously donate your clothes to associations!
