As part of an important investigation launched by the gendarmerie into the fight against child pornography, thirty-one mensuspected of having administered and used child pornography content via the encrypted messaging Signal, they were arrested in mid-November, in France and Europe.
In total, more than 200,000 files they have been discovered, 40 juvenile criminal groups have been inspected and 49 digital materials were seized.
Among those arrested, a former teacher and a pediatrician
Through viewing particularly harsh images, approximately “700 individuals of 73 different nationalities” have been identified by more than 70 investigatorsof which 25 specialize in new technologies, in the center of Cergy-Pontoise and in the local branches of Europol and Interpol in Bordeaux, Lille, Versailles or Metz, specifies theFrench media agency.
Thereby, ten of them were arrested in France, ten in Spain, five in Hungary, four in Belgium and two in Bulgaria. Among them there is in particular an ex teacher from Mayotte, a pediatrician Hungarian, radio host and tourists having taken trips to Thailand.

While most are in pre-trial detention, some are already on trial for rape of a child under 15 and corruption of minors. “ New arrests are also expected soon in Finland, Romania and Ukraine “one of the investigators told AFP.
Please note that in 2022, in more than eight out of ten cases, requests for removal of content addressed to Arcom, the Audiovisual and Digital Communications Regulatory Authority (formerly CSA), concerned child pornography content.
