Sidney Powell, who along with Rudy Giuliani made insane claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election, has pleaded guilty to six counts in the Georgia election meddling case.
Powell is one of 18 defendants, led by former President Donald Trump, accused of an alleged plot to overturn the state’s election results. Powell was Trump’s legal adviser.
In the weeks following the 2020 election, Powell and Giuliani have made several appearances on Fox News and other media claiming that the election was stolen. They also led an infamous press conference in November, and in a guest appearance with then-Fox News host Lou Dobbs, Powell used the phrase “release the Kraken” or that she would provide evidence of widespread voter fraud. She didn’t do it.
According to ABC News, Powell pleaded guilty to six felonies and will receive a 12-month suspended sentence and a $6,000 fine for each count. A trial against her accusers was expected to begin on Friday.
There is more to come.
