The super easy and quick recipe for homemade gnocchi

Want to cook something exciting, but have the cooking skills of a 5 year old? Don’t worry with this potato gnocchi recipe that will amaze your guests.

You can buy your gnocchi at the supermarket, “already fried”, for a lazy meal and to let your kids finish their plate.

However, there is nothing simpler and cheaper than making your own dumplings. You can also serve them as dinner to your guests, who will likely be impressed by your cooking skills.

Come on, let’s give you a lift Homemade potato gnocchi recipe.

For 4 people you will need:

  • 1kg of potatoes
  • 250 g of wheat flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 little butter
  • Salt and pepper

The steps to prepare the gnocchi:

  • Start by cooking the potatoes in boiling salted water for 25-30 minutes depending on their size. The meat should be tender and tender.
  • Peel the potatoes and mash them with a fork (or a potato masher, if you have the equipment).
  • In a salad bowl, add the sifted flour and egg yolks to the potatoes. Mix until you obtain a homogeneous and non-sticky dough.
  • Flour the work surface, then take part of the dough and roll it up like a sausage. Then cut it into 2-3 cm pieces.
  • With the back of a fork, press each piece to give it the shape of gnocchi.
  • Once all the gnocchi have been prepared, cook them in a pan with boiling salted water. They will be cooked when they float to the surface, after about 2 minutes.

You can then fry them in a pan with a little butter to give them a crunchy side. Better yet: if you have fresh sage in your garden or on your balcony, brown a few leaves in butter along with the gnocchi. Sprinkle with grated parmesan and eat immediately.
