In January, Roman Kostomarov’s life was divided into before and after. He was hospitalized with pneumonia, then complications began, sepsis developed and blood circulation was impaired. During the onset of gangrene, both his feet and fingers were amputated. Despite what happened, Roman chose life and is now actively involved in his recovery process. And now he gave his first interview on the television program “The Secret of a Million”. We have previously written about the main issue in the first part of the topic. There the athlete talked about his career and personal life. In the second part, Roman made statements about the operations he underwent.

It’s scary to even imagine what Roman Kostomarov is going through. He shared that he sometimes remembers waking up from a coma and seeing his black, swollen arms and legs: “I tried to move them, but they wouldn’t move. Even in such a coma state I realized that something terrible had happened. But I did not realize all this horror until the chief physician of Kommunarka came to me with a large number of surgeons and said that they needed my permission to amputate my feet. “Even though I used all these medications, I cried.” The skater (!) underwent 16 amputations. “I immediately imagined how I would live in everyday life. I thought my skating career was over. “I didn’t know how to brush my teeth or wash my face.” We couldn’t hold back our tears.

It was previously known that Roman Kostomarov will participate in the ice show.
