Best of the Best: Finalists for the 2nd National Internet Content Awards Announced

The Internet Development Institute of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced today the nominees selected from more than 500 applications. Iran will be held for the second time in 2023. The first part of the ceremony will be held on May 18. In total, the winners will be rewarded with 36 nominations, including thematic and special ones.

This year’s finalists include the Oscar-nominated “Flock”, “Elizaveta”, “Patient Zero” game series, “Show ViL” by pranksters Vovan and Lexus, songs and music videos by SHAMAN, Vanya Dmitrienko and Klava Koka. . “Socially positive content can be popular. The National Internet Content Award is about making creative content visible to a wide audience. The nominees and future winners are the best of hundreds of projects, each of which is actually very valuable. The finalists include numerous projects from digital media, telegram channels, bloggers and journalists. This is valuable for us and the audience,” said Alexei Goreslavsky, Director-General of IRI.

Timur Vainshtein, chairman of the IRI Producers Council, noted that the main criterion for choosing the winners is the social orientation of the project. “A significant portion of the 500 applications on the long list are non-game projects. It is currently one of the most popular types in the world. And in Russia they also shoot deep, honest documentary stuff – both news and educational, and just human stories, ”she emphasized.

All formats can claim socially important content title: series, multimedia projects, blogs, podcasts, short videos and others. Prizes will also be awarded in special categories. These include the “Great Power” nominations for the promotion of the Russian language, speech culture and reading among children, and “Being Human” for contribution to the development of socially important content in Russia.

The second part – the award ceremony – will be held on June 7 at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace. Candidates are nominated by media industry leaders: producers, heads of online platforms, TV channels and major studios, representatives of creative agencies and other industry professionals.

The Internet Development Institute will also, together with partners, present special awards, including: ANO “National Priorities”, ANO “Russia Country of Opportunities”, RDDM “First Movement”, Russian Community “Knowledge”, Center “Zotov” and others.
