Everyone’s favorite dark passenger will be back for more. Showtime has officially renewed itself Dexter: Resurrection for a second season, with Michael C. Sala returning once again as Dexter Morgan.
The news came directly from Hall himself, who shared the update in a video announcement, saying, “We’ve been greenlit for another season. There’s more to come. The writers’ room is meeting now. Details will come, but I wanted to be the first to let you know that the story continues.”
Dexter: Resurrection picks up a few weeks after Dexter takes a bullet to the chest from his son Harrison (Jack Alcott). Miraculously surviving, he awakens from a coma to discover that Harrison has disappeared without a trace.
Haunted by guilt and driven by the need for redemption, Dexter sets his sights on New York City, hoping to track down his son and repair the damage between them.
Of course this is Dexter and nothing is ever that simple. Angel Batista of Miami Metro (David Zayas) shows up in the Big Apple with more questions than answers, forcing Dexter to face the rubble of his past.
As father and son face their inner demons in a city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves entangled in something much darker than either of them expected.
Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection brought back familiar faces while introducing new ones to the killer universe. The series, a continuation of Dexter: New Bloodin the foreground Uma Thurmann as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine like Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Domenico Fumusa in the role of detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suarez in the role of Elsa Rivera.
We also saw Giacomo Remar reprise his role as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, together Peter Dinklage in the role of Leon Prater, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristen Ritter, Eric StonestreetAND David Dastmalchian like Lowell, Mia, Al and Gareth.
With Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is officially on the way, fans can expect more blood, moral chaos, and complex father-son dynamics as Dexter Morgan’s story delves even deeper into the darkness. Showtime has not yet released a premiere date.
