EXCLUSIVE: house of lies Creator Matthew Carnahan has signed on with Verve for a replacement.
Writer, showrunner and director Carnahan is best known as the creator of house of lies, starring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, which ran for five seasons on Showtime. He also directed several episodes of the Emmy Award-winning series. Additionally, Carnahan wrote, directed and produced valley of the tree, a six-part series for STX and National Geographic about the rise of Silicon Valley in the 1990s, with Bradley Whitford and Steve Zahn. He also created, directed and directed Floorwith Courteney Cox on FX.
After working as a playwright and director in New York, Carnahan was selected for Steven Spielberg’s prestigious Chesterfield Fellowship and films began at Sundance. mailman 1996 & boys from the black circle, in 1997.
Carnahan is currently developing a casino project in Las Vegas, The Emperor of Clark Countyon Netflix with Martin Scorsese and LBI Entertainment, and a series inspired by music legends on Skydance Television.
Carnahan, also an author, wrote snake girl, published by Random House and currently writing a new novel, i’m letting you go now described as a love thriller.
Joel Ehninger, Carnahan’s longtime producer, is also represented by Verve, the agency where he began his entertainment career.
Carnahan will continue to be represented by Lighthouse Management & Media and attorney Mitch Smilkinson at Goodman, Geno, Schenkman, Smilkinson & Christopher.
