Dan Bongino is leaving Fox News after the conservative host announced that last weekend’s show would be his last.
“It’s hard. It’s hard to say,” Bongino said on his podcast Thursday, adding that he had been unable to agree on a new deal with the network.
“There is no bitterness. It’s not like a WWE fight that happened. We just couldn’t agree on an extension and that was it.”
“You’ve been good to me for ten years,” he said, adding that Fox News had allowed him to do “one last show.”
Bongino presented Unfiltered with Dan Bongino on Saturday nights from 2021, but previously worked for the channel. Forbes was the first to report his departure.
Additionally, Bongino’s radio show streaming on Fox Nation is ending.
“We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors,” Fox News said in a statement.
Fox News will air Lawrence Jones Cross Country on Saturday at 9pm ET, followed by an encore from Gutfeld! A new program will be announced in the coming weeks.
Fox News and Fox Corp. agreed Tuesday to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787.5 million in a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems to avoid an extended defamation lawsuit over the voting software company’s allegations that the network boosted false allegations that the 2020 election was rigged. Bongino was not part of the lawsuit, but the lawsuit highlighted wild on-air claims and conspiracy theories about the election manifesto. Fox defended its coverage of the voter fraud allegations as newsworthy.
