James Gunn recently shared that the DC franchise’s long-term narrative plans go far beyond that The man of tomorrowand hinted that while the roadmap is set, he may not be the one to see it through.
Speaking to YouTuber BobaTalks, Gunn revealed:
“Yeah, they definitely go way beyond Man of Tomorrow. So whether or not I’ll be able to deliver on that promise depends on a lot of things in life.”
This is a great tease for DC fans who have been eager to know just how deep this new universe goes. The sequel to Superman you’ll see David Corenswet returns as the Man of Steel, teaming up with Nicola HoultLex Luthor for an unexpected alliance against a mysterious new threat.
Gunn didn’t reveal many plot details, but he did share what excites him most about the project:
“I love the character of Lex Luthor and so I think getting to get into him a little more, as well as Superman, and their relationship in how they are the same and how they are different, was exciting for me.”
Before seeing The man of tomorrowthere’s plenty more DCU on the horizon. Supergirl AND Clay face are going to theaters, while Lanterns it will light up the small screen.
On top of that, Gunn confirmed that it is an animated film Mister Miracle is in the works and already has a script ea Gold Boosters The TV series has received a pilot order.
With The man of tomorrow serving as just one chapter in a much larger saga that Gunn and his team have charted, we’ll have to wait and see whether Gunn will remain at the helm or pass the torch to a new team.
The man of tomorrow will arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027.
