Bill Nighy and more join the star-studded cast of Audible’s HARRY POTTER audiobooks

The full cast from Audible Harry Potter audiobook series have just locked down the latest wave of actors, and it’s a lineup worth getting excited about.

Among the names just announced is none other than Bill Nighystepping into the role of Professor Slughorn. Fans may remember him as Rufus Scrimgeour in the Warner Bros. films, but this time he trades politics for potions.

Nighy shared in a statement. “I was pleased that I was asked to play the Professor after having already played the Minister of Magic. Is it possible that I am the only actor who can boast this achievement?”

“It means that my career continues to have meaning for the next two generations. I am always grateful when I am asked to play an academic role, having not had a higher education myself.

“I hope to be a significant part of something that can entertain children in the car on long trips abroad or just on the way to school.”

In addition to Nighy, this latest batch of castings includes some interesting choices including David Holmes (who performed stunts in the original films) as Stan Shunpike, Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Professor Trelawney, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Sirius Black, Anna Maxwell Martin as Rita Skeeter, Mackenzie Crook as Kreacher, Stefano Mangan as Nearly Headless Nick, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Mrs. Hooch, and Millie Gubby as Luna Lovegood.

Younger versions of fan favorites are also blocked. Jude Farrant will voice Draco Malfoy in the first three previous books Massimo Evans takes over for the second half of the series. Jake Sigsworth AND Archie Montagna will split Neville Longbottom’s duties in the same timeline.

These additions complete the casting for Harry Potter: The Full Cast Audio Editions, an ambitious reimagining from Audible and Pottermore Publishing. The project has already made headlines with a stellar ensemble it includes Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall, and Cush Jumbo narrate the series.

The main trio of young wizards will be brought to life by Frankie Treadaway like Harry Potter, Max Lester as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton like Hermione Granger in the first books. For books 4–7, these roles switch to Jaxon Knopf, Rhys MulliganAND Nina Barker-Francis respectively.

Recently announced names include Kit Harington as Professor Lockhart, Keira Knightley as Professor Umbridge, Ivan Rheon in the role of Professor Lupine, Ruth Wilson as Bellatrix Lestrange, Ambika Mod like Tonks, Leo Woodall as Bill Weasley, Simone Pegg as Arthur Weasley, James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody, Gemma Whelan as Professor Sprout, Matt Berry as Sir Cadogan, Marco Addy as Hagrid, Alex Hassell as Lucius Malfoy, Daniel Mays like Dobby and sisters Will be AND Avni Deshmukh like the Patil twins.

The release kicks off with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on November 4, 2025, exclusively on Audible. New entries will launch monthly, concluding with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on May 12, 2026.

The original single narrator versions by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale aren’t going anywhere either, so listeners can enjoy both styles.

Featuring over 200 actors, this project is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious audiobook productions ever attempted.
