The festival organizers have decided to pay homage to the actress, while her daughter Chiara Mastroianni will be the godmother of the ceremonies.

A significant choice for the organizers: “For more than 60 years, the biggest French star has never stopped shooting, reinventing himself, experimenting, daring to make counter-works or first works. […] Deneuve embodies in his own way the richness of cinema that the Festival wants to defend: arthouse films but also quality popular films”emphasize the party.

The organizers took the opportunity to provide more details on the organization of the festival. The actress Clare Mastroiannidaughter of Catherine Deneuve, she will be the master of the opening and closing ceremonies.

We also know a little more about the closing film. AND Elementaryanimated film from Pixar studios, which tells the story of the friendship between “Flam, an intrepid and lively young woman with a strong character, and Flack, a sentimental and funny boy, quite a follower at heart”in a city where the four elements coexist.
The film will have its world premiere on May 27, immediately after the jury has announced the winners. The latter, however, still not known, should be revealed in the coming days.
