Molested and threatened with death for 2 years, my life has become an endless hunt

For almost 2 years, Lucile’s life has become a nightmare. Harassed, threatened with death and raped by a stalker, she lives in fear that he might attack her or those close to her. Today, when her stalker has once again attempted to enter her house, she speaks out for justice to take measures of the danger she represents and finally react.

My harassment started in June 2021 with a simple offensive message on Instagram, from someone I didn’t know.

I didn’t take it seriously and decided to respond with derision. After this discussion, I didn’t hear from him for a month. Then during the night, this guy started sending me a lot of videos of him where he gave me appointments as if we knew each other and planned to see each other. He said she was looking for me. She wasn’t insulting me, but I preferred not to answer.

My complaint was not taken seriously

That’s when the threats have come. Even though I blocked all of her accounts, she still recreated them, across all networks, she sent me dozens and dozens of emails. I received from about 40 different accounts death threats, rape threats, videos of him holding a knife, and videos of him in my city looking for my address. When he started threatening my family, I filed a complaint.

But I was not heard. At the police station, the cop who took my complaint didn’t take me seriously, didn’t listen to what I told him, too busy laughing because I had put the mask upside down. Eventually he accepted my complaint, but he didn’t look at any of the evidence I showed him.

A week later, in August 2021, when the cop hadn’t even consulted the ample evidence I’d passed on to him, I decided to make my first Twitter thread. It is thanks to this that things have really moved forward. My stalker was sentenced to 2 years suspended prison sentence (conditional suspension is a way of personalizing the sentence: by pronouncing a prison sentence, the judge can order its suspension on condition that the convict respects a certain number of obligations for a certain time (trial period) that he corrects).

But that didn’t stop him from threatening a friend of mine with a knife a week later. As he waited for me in front of a Paris metro station, he said to her:

“I’m going to leave you all, you and Lucile.”

Following this attack, and following the media pressure generated by my intervention on Twitter, he surrendered to the police and was finally sentenced to 8 months in prison. At that moment, I felt relieved. I suspected this wasn’t the end of his harassment, but I was hoping for some respite.

“I will always be out, I do what I want”

But my stalker came out after only 3 months, and just a week after its release, the harassment started again, even more virulent.

He sent me extremely violent messages like: “I won’t wash until I find you feeling dirty for life” I will rub you and make you pregnant”, “I’m going to burn down your college and your house”, “I will behead you”. He even offered threats against my 14 year old brother AS : “I’m kidnapping him, I know his college”, “If it’s not you who’s kidnapping him, it’s him”. She also threatened her with rape.

Both my brother and I have filed complaints. This time he was sentenced to one year in prison. In November 2022, during his 10th month in prison, I was summoned by the police, because he had spent a phone call in prison threatening me. In that call she said:

“The only thing that makes me smile and keeps me from killing myself is that I know when I get out I can kill her.”

I filed a complaint again, but that didn’t stop him from getting out of jail a week later. To date I have no news of this complaint.

My life has become an endless hunt

When he was released in November 2022 my stalker started communicating with a girl and telling her everything he was going to do. He explained to her that through judgment, had my new address in Pariswhere I live alone with my boyfriend, who knew the shop where I work and who intended to go there to talk to me “in a dark alley”in his words.

Later, when he heard that I had a boyfriend, he freaked out:

“I will stab them in the throat and heart in 1 minute, they won’t stand a chance. »

Because of these threats, I could no longer go home, I had to stay several nights in a hotel, then went south to my grandparents to find an apartment. I had to stop working at the shop, because he says he does the rounds there. My life has become an endless hunt. I filed a complaint again for these facts, my complaint was rejected.

In February 2023 I moved into my new apartment with my boyfriend. Then I never hear from him again, because he knows that if he texts me, he’ll go back to jail. He now he is waiting to act directly. No longer having my address, he waited for me to come and spend a weekend with my parents. to try to reach me physically.

This person is a danger to me, but also to society

That day, Sunday March 26, 2023, he tried to enter my parents’ house while I was at home. He repeatedly tried to see me by hiding behind cars, but a neighbor asked him to leave. He said he was my uncle and asked to see my father and talk to me. When my dad talked to him, my stalker kept his hand in his pocket, as if he were hiding a weapon. Luckily my father had time to call the police, who eventually reached him.

My father and I filed a complaint again. Arrested, my stalker was brought before the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office and was placed in pre-trial custody.

Today I’m still fighting to get my stalker incarcerated. That’s why I decided to publicize my story again. I don’t understand how with a measure of removal, truce and its many recurrences, he can still be free. This person is not only a danger to me, but also to society as a whole, and especially women. From now on I live in fear that I will find my new address, I limit my outings as much as possible, I never go out alone and I keep the shutters closed in the house so as not to be visible from the outside.

I hope to be able to shake things up and inform on how bad cyberbullying can be and how French justice tends not to take women seriously. Thousands of women in France complain scores of times to be sent home and eventually die. Today, I want that to change.
