Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that its latest sports doc will follow Newcastle United Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story 72 indie films produced with Lorton Entertainment.
The as-yet-untitled series exploring the Saudi club will not be part of Prime Videos All or nothing Series that has put Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the limelight so far.
Cameras have followed Newcastle throughout the season as they look set to finish as well in the Premier League as they have in years after being acquired by a consortium including the Saudi Public Investment Fund in a move that has sparked plenty of controversy. After Champions League qualification, they reached their first cup final in 24 years, but lost to Manchester United.
72 films, including the All or nothing docs, working with Lorton, the producer of Disney+’s upcoming Wagatha Christie doc.
“We are delighted to be working with Newcastle United,” Lorton chief executive Julian Bird said.
“With rapid changes on and off the pitch, it’s a fascinating time to get a behind-the-scenes look at the club.”

Amazon has a huge list of sports docs and has also fallen behind Rooney, Ben Stokes: Phoenix of the Ashes And Sir Alex Ferguson: Never give up.
