German-Spanish actor and All Quiet on the Western Front star Daniel Brühl will play the young Karl Lagerfeld in Kaiser Karl, a new six-part biopic for Disney+.

The mini-series is about the rise of the famous fashion designer in the French fashion world in the early 1970s. Filming will take place simultaneously in three countries: Monaco, Italy and France, and the Gaumont film company is producing.
But Lagerfeld won’t be the only famous fashion designer to appear on the series. Fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, played by Arnaud Valois, and entrepreneur Pierre Bergé, represented by Alex Latz, completes the picture. French actress Agnès Jaoui will play Gabi Aghion, the founder of Chloé.
The “Kaiser Karl” series will present and reveal the details of the rivalry between Lagerfeld and Pierre Bergé, as well as open the curtain on the fashion designer’s private life.

Recall that the fashion designer died in 2019 at the age of 85. The fashion designer died of pancreatic cancer. Karl Lagerfeld was the chief designer of Fendi, Chanel and his own fashion house Karl Lagerfeld.
