On Thursday 9 March, the Senate voted unanimously – with government approval – in favor of an improvement in the pension for mothers with at least one child who have a full career between the ages of 63 and 64.
Concretely, if the pension reform is adopted, this amendment provides for a pension “increase” of 1.25% per quarter. Supplement of up to 5% for women who exceed the required 43 years of contributions, taking into account the quarters of maternity and parental leave.
“Makes women lose a little less than expected”
Until now, mothers who chose to leave after the age of majority, i.e. 62, had a 10% premium. With this amendment they will therefore leave with 5% more to complete another 2 years.
The measure, estimated at 300 million euros, “go in the right direction”reported toFrench media agency. You recalled that the terms motherhood and child rearing were created when women interrupted their careers more often, and that they become “less useful”even if they have to stay.
