Eric Roth, former executive director of the Visual Effects Society, will receive the VES Board of Directors Award “in recognition of his leadership as president of the Society’s senior management team.”
Roth, who led the organization for 19 years, retired in September. The award will be presented at the 21st annual VES Awards on February 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Over the course of his nearly two decades as the leader of the Honor Society, VES has grown from a primarily California-based organization with approximately 750 members to a global society with nearly 4,500 members in 45 countries.
“As my longtime friend and colleague, Eric has been the kind of leader, partner and inspiration who is always a pleasure to work with,” said VES President Lisa Cooke. “Eric has played a transformative role in building the Society’s global presence and championing our mission on behalf of VFX artists and practitioners around the world. We have found a leader with Eric’s vision, integrity and unwavering passion, and it is with gratitude and admiration that we present him with the well-deserved VES Board of Directors Award.”

As previously reported, producer and writer Gale Anne Hurd will receive the VES Lifetime Achievement Award.
