A wild lioness tried to sink her razor-sharp fangs into an unperturbed baby standing over a glass cage at a zoo in China, incredible footage shows.
The video, taken at the Shenyang Zoo in Liaoning Province, China, shows the cub posing with its back to a pair of adult lions.
In the background, the lioness begins to measure the child and stares at him intently.
Suddenly, the predator lifts her legs, which are the same size as the toddler’s head, in an attempt to grab it, but is stunned when she touches the separating thread.
An adorable toddler is unaware that a wild lioness is desperately trying to eat him behind a zoo’s glass window
The fearsome cat then bares its teeth and opens its jaws as wide as it can, hoping to chew on the lowly boy.
Meanwhile, the cub faces forward, unaware that the lioness is trying to eat it.
His mother – unnamed in local media – stands behind the camera and watches as her cub fearlessly approaches the glass cage and puts his hand right in front of the lioness.
It’s cute that the big cat then seems to see the boy as prey rather than friend and starts to lick his hand as if he is grooming him.
She even tries to sniff the boy around the cage, apparently to find out if the child is eating or playing.
