UFC boss Dana White says he apologized to wife after video footage of couple having physical altercation

UFC president Dana White said he and his wife apologized to each other after video footage of what he described as a “horrific” incident in which they slapped each other in the face surfaced online.

“There was a lot of alcohol involved, but that’s no excuse,” White told TMZ, which first released the footage. “You’ve heard me say it for years, there’s never an excuse for a man to touch a woman, and now I’m here on TMZ to talk about it.”

The leaked video shows White and his wife Anne standing on the balcony of a VIP suite at Mexico’s Cabo San Lucas nightclub. After what appeared to be a brief argument between the couple, Anne slapped White in the face after he grabbed her wrist. In the video, White can be seen punching his wife in the face in response. The couple is then separated from other partygoers.

White told TMZ that he and his wife had never been physically together and also apologized to their three children.

“My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have known each other since we were 12 years old. This is one of those situations that is horrible; I’m shy Right now we are more worried about our children,” he said.

“Since the video came out, we have shown the video to the children. We are now more focused on our family.”

White has been UFC president since 2001, when Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta bought the company. Fifth Season, formerly known as Endeavor Content, now owns a 100 percent majority stake in UFC.
